Head of Unit, Radiation protection and nuclear safety, DG ENER, European Commission
Michael Hübel is Head of the Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Unit at DG Energy. He has worked at the European Commission since 1995, initially at DG Employment and Social Affairs, and later at DG Health and Food Safety, Public Health Directorate. From 2005 to 2012 he was Head of the Health Determinants Unit, responsible for nutrition and physical activity, alcohol, chronic diseases, and wider determinants of health. He studied Political Science, Public Law and History, in Bonn, Germany and in Canberra, Australia.
