Director, Directorate A - Energy Policy, DG ENER, European Commission
Mechthild Wörsdörfer is Director for Energy Policy at the Directorate in charge of general strategy and monitoring of energy policy, international relations and economic analysis, at the European Commission’s DG Energy. Prior to her appointment she was Head of the Energy Policy & Monitoring Unit for the electricity, gas, coal and oil markets, Head of the SME policy development Unit, and acting Director of the Directorate Promotion of SME Competitiveness, at DG Enterprise & Industry. She has also served in Commissioner Erkki Liikanen’s Cabinet. Ms Wörsdörfer holds a Masters in European Economics from the Free University of Brussels.
