Director General, Energy Section, Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic

Ján Petrovič has worked in several positions at the Slovak Ministry of Economy since 1995. In 2004 he became Director of the Energy Policy Department, and since 2007 has assumed the function of Director General of the Energy Section. In this position he is responsible for creation of the State’s energy and raw materials policies, energy and mining legislation, international relations in the field of energy (EU, IEA, EC, ECT), and for state administration performance as designated by the legislative framework, such as that relating to the power industry (including nuclear), renewables, energy efficiency, the gas industry, the heat power sector, the oil industry, and mining. Mr Petrovič holds a degree from the Technical University of Košice, Faculty of Mining.
